Dr. Karishma Patwa
CardiologistDr. Karishma Patwa is a board-certified cardiologist who has always been passionate about science and medicine. She knew that she wanted to help people in the best way she could, and thus pursued a career in medicine. Dr. Patwa decided to focus on cardiology because of its fascinating medical and physiological aspects, as well as its preventative, procedural, and treatment-oriented nature. She is deeply committed to addressing the number one cause of morbidity and mortality in the world, which is incredibly preventable.
Dr. Karishma Patwa has an impressive educational background, including a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, an Internal Medicine Residency from NYU Winthrop Hospital, and a Doctorate of Medicine, Cum Laude from the American University of Antigua. She also holds a Master of Science in Physiology from New York Medical College and a Bachelor of Science in General Biology and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Her education and training have equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide excellent care to her patients.
When it comes to treatment, Dr. Patwa firmly believes that prevention is key. However, when necessary, she takes an early and aggressive approach to treatment to prevent further complications. For Dr. Patwa, patient care is all about focusing holistically on the patient and involving them in their own care. She believes in building strong relationships with her patients to ensure that they receive the best possible care.
Dr. Patwa’s favorite part of her job is interacting with patients and making a difference in their lives. She also enjoys reading imaging studies, which helps her to make more informed and accurate diagnoses.
